Software for a useful job

Built because important records should not be miserable to keep.

Pee & Pour was created by Adam McLean and Henry Allsuch of Boon & Moil, a software studio founded in 2018 with a software-for-good approach.

The starting point

A paper diary problem, not a “drink more water” idea.

After people close to the founders struggled to keep important fluid records in paper diaries, they began building a quicker, friendlier way to record drinks and urine output and turn the result into something easy to review.

The people and their health circumstances remain private. The product focuses on the practical task: remember less, record faster and keep control of where the journal goes.

Product principles

The rules behind the ridiculous colours.

Respect the task

The humour makes logging approachable. It never makes symptoms, illness or the user the joke.

Describe, do not diagnose

Charts summarise the journal. They do not turn it into an unreviewed health score.

Keep data close

No mandatory account, advertising or app analytics. Sharing remains explicit.

Make repetition easier

Reusable containers, wrist entry and editable records reduce friction without hiding detail.

Use UK language honestly

The product can say “wee” while still explaining bladder diary, urine output and fluid balance clearly.

Build for correction

A real journal includes missed times and measurement mistakes, so records remain editable.

Bright enough to make the routine feel lighter. Serious enough to keep the record useful.
